Central Corridor among projects funded by House

The office of Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., on Friday released a list of 15 projects that received funding from the House of Representatives last week.

Among the projects, worth in aggregate more than $24 million, is $20 million for the Central Corridor light-rail line between the downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Ellison's office noted that the Senate has yet to act on the appropriations bill.

Other projects include:

• $534,000 for Southwest Transit for a proposed 14-mile light-rail line between downtown Minneapolis and Eden Prairie. 

• $475,000 for the Lowry Avenue bridge replacement.

• $475,000 for the Columbia Heights pedestrian bridge.

• $190,000 for the construction of a new outpatient clinic at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

• $100,000 for the Joint Community Police Partnership.

• $250,000 for the Hennepin Juvenile Justice Information Systems.

• $300,000 for digital cameras and computers for Minneapolis police.

• $238,000 for the Minneapolis Youth Violence Prevention Program.

• $300,000 for the City of Minneapolis Combined Sewer Overflow.

• $240,000 for the Shubert Performing Arts and Education Center.

• $382,000 for the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District.

• $150,000 for Bolder Options in Minneapolis.

• $500,000 for Twin Cities Rise!

• $190,000 for Jordan New Life Hub in north Minneapolis.
