An interesting college basketball nugget: Buzz Williams, a popular name as a candidate for the Gophers' job a year ago before Richard Pitino was hired, is reportedly moving on from Marquette to take the job at Virginia Tech.

Per ESPN.com:

Buzz Williams is leaving Marquette and will sign a seven-year contract to become coach at Virginia Tech, multiple sources said Friday.

Sources said the deal is worth almost $18 million.

The 41-year-old Williams led the Golden Eagles to five NCAA tournament berths in six seasons since taking over after Tom Crean left for Indiana.
