Ivey Award winner Regina Marie Williams (above, right) will kick off the Capri Theater's sixth annual "Legends" concert series with a tribute to Eartha Kitt. The show, "Eartha…The Whole Kitt & Kaboodle," will feature Williams' renditions of the purry vocal stylist's oeuvre, including "Santa Baby" and "C'est Si Bon."

In between numbers, there will also be biographical bits about Kitt, who was born on a plantation near Columbia, S.C., the product of a rape. After a hard life, she went on to achieve stardom in film, onstage and in recordings. 7 p.m. Nov. 10 and 3 p.m. Nov. 11.

The series, curated by Dennis Spears, also includes a Valentine's tribute called "Sweet Love." That concert stars Spears and Coré Cotton, who has been a soloist for the Sounds of Blackness. 7 p.m. Feb. 16, 2013 and 3 p.m. Feb. 17, 2013.

"Legends" concludes with a spotlight on Etta James, the blues, soul and gospel singer who died at 73 in January. Thomasina Petrus (above) draws from James' expansive repertoire that includes such hits as "At Last," "I'd Rather Go Blind" and "Something Got a Hold of Me."

"Etta…Tell Mama!" is performed at 7 p.m. April 20, 2013, and 3 p.m. April 21, 2013.

Season tickets for all three concerts are $60. Single tickets are $25 and can be ordered online or by calling OvationTix at 866-811-4111.
