There will be plenty of storylines for the Vikings game on Monday night against the Jets in the New Meadowlands Stadium but one might be missing.

The potential matchups between new Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss and Jets Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis might not happen if Revis is unable to return because of a hamstring injury suffered in Week 2 when he was beat for a touchdown by none other than Moss. Of course, Moss was with New England at the time.

Moss talked about his rivalry with Revis during an interview conducted by Vikings play-by-play voice Paul Allen for the "Vikings GamePlan" show that will air at 10:30 a.m. Saturday on KARE (Ch. 11).

"Between me and him is a mutual thing and I think it's just more of us competing," Moss said. "I think he gets caught up a little bit with how he talks. I've never said anything about him good or bad. I still give him his respect. But he hasn't given me mine yet. Sooner or later I'll get it."

That's going to be hard to do if Revis doesn't play and it's going to be really hard to do if Moss stays in the NFC. Revis was critical of Moss this week when talking about the Jets' victory over the Patriots in Week 2. Although Revis was covering Moss when the wide receiver made that memorable one-handed catch in the end zone, the cornerback wasn't shy about giving his feelings regarding Moss' performance.

Revis told reporters that Moss "came out full force" to start out but then slowed up in the second half. Moss was covered by Antonio Cromartie in the second half and was shutout. "In the second half, you could tell he was kind of like, you know, putting his foot on the brake," Revis said. "Everybody knows that's Randy. Sometimes he comes out and plays 100 percent. Sometimes he doesn't."

Meanwhile, Jets coach Rex Ryan sounds unconvinced that Revis is going to be available on Monday. "There's some doubt on whether he'll play," Ryan said in comments posted on the Pro Football Talk website. "The doctors and trainers feel good, but until the player says, 'Hey, look I'm ready to go,' especially if you're a corner, that's important. We'll never put a guy out there that doesn't think he's ready to come back, without question."

Because of the amount of news centered around the Vikings this week we haven't had much time to go over the Jets injury report. Here is it:
