Ottawa – Minnesota United FC's road woes continued on Saturday.

The Loons lost to the Ottawa Fury FC 3-1 at TD Place Stadium before 6,274 fans despite scoring the first goal of the NASL match. Jamie Watson put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute, shooting the ball under the raised leg of a defender.

United (5-6-5) has won just once away from home in 13 matches this season — and that was in April.

The Fury tied it 1-1 on Giuseppe Gentile's goal from close range in the 57th minute. And then for the second game in a row, the Fury scored twice in the closing minutes to beat the Loons.

Last Saturday, the Fury edged United 3-2 in Blaine on goals by Ryan Williams and Danny Mwanga in the 84th and 86th minutes, respectively.

In this match, Williams got the winning goal, in the 82nd minute on a counterattack. Four minutes later, Lance Rozeboom made it 3-1. With space around him, Roseboom turned and shot from close range.

Romuald Peiser of Ottawa (5-6-5) and Sammy Ndjock both had two saves.

With the loss, the Loons' hold on the fourth and final spot in the playoffs shrunk to just one point.

United FC has 36 points in the combined standings, Tampa Bay 35.
