MINNEAPOLIS — A former Minneapolis police officer has pleaded guilty to sending nude photos of himself to two teenage girls in Hennepin County.

Bradley Schnickel will serve a year in the workhouse.

The 32-year-old also is facing charges in Anoka County for allegedly using social media to try to lure girls into sexual encounters. Schnickel was fired from the police department in February.

The Star Tribune reports Schnickel and his attorney declined to comment after Thursday's hearing. Sentencing is set for Aug. 27.

Meanwhile, an Anoka County prosecutor says Schnickel shouldn't be working as a security guard at a shopping mall. One of the conditions of his release prohibits him from contact with juvenile females.

Schnickel tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press he has not been in conflict with the court's conditions.
