It was another day of delays on the Northstar line as track maintenance forced Metro Transit to single track between Elk River and Ramsey. That led to delays of 15 minutes for the second day in a row.

On the roads, southbound 35W was accident free in the northern suburbs, but that did not keep traffic from crawling along. Things jammed up just after 6 a.m. from 95th Avenue to 694 and that didn't start to loosen until around 8:30 a.m. The trip from the Forest Lake Split to downtown Minneapolis took most commuters 30 minutes or more.

For a nice change, northbound 169 across the Bloomington Ferry Bridge flowed at near the posted speeds. That was not the case on northbound 35W through Burnsville and Bloomington as stop and go conditions persisted.

Westbound 94 from Woodbury to St. Paul ran well below the posted speeds with the worst delays from Hwy. 61 to 35E. At present, a multi-vehicle wreck has the left lane closed at Mounds Blvd. and things are jammed up from Johnson Pkwy. past the scene.

The 494 strip had its usual slow downs through Bloomington. A wreck taking out one lane at 12th Avenue is currently tangling traffic on the westbound side. Eastbound is sputtering from Hwy. 169 to Hwy. 100.

Our current problems also include a motorcycle crash on westbound 394 at Wirth Pkwy. That has traffic inching along from Penn Avenue past the scene.

Look for delays on westbound 94 due to a wreck at Franklin Avenue and on southbound 35W with a mishap at 66th Street.

Midway road work will have lane restrictions in the following locations:
Southbound 35W from Johnson Street to Hennepin Avenue

The ramp from northbound Hwy. 169 to 36th Street and highway lanes up to 7th Street

Eastbound 94 from Mounds Blvd. to Century Avenue
