Authorities have identified a 57-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car driven by her husband outside her home near Lake Minnetonka.

Diane Rawlings Meder died Thursday night of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office, which listed the manner of death as still under investigation by Orono police.

According to Orono police, she was walking in the 2600 block of Arcola Lane in Minnetonka Beach, a small town on a peninsula, when a car struck her about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officers arrested the driver, David Christopher Meder, 57. The medical examiner's office listed Diane Meder's address and the location of the injury as the same place. That address is also what the jail listed as David Meder's residence.

She was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where she died about 90 minutes later.

While the cause of the accident remains under investigation, police had said they believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash.

Meder was still in the Hennepin County jail pending charges related to criminal vehicular operation resulting in a death.

Police had declined Friday to release more information about where she was walking and whether the driver was arrested at the scene.
