Two victims in Frogtown shooting ID'd

Last update: April 3, 2009 - 9:40 PM

St. Paul police have released the names of two people shot during a botched midday robbery Thursday at their Frogtown home.

Chong Yia Lor, 44, was shot in the hand and foot, while his wife, Plia Her, 48, was shot in the neck, police spokesman Peter Panos said Friday.

"They should recover just fine," he said.

Police were looking for the suspected gunman, who authorities would not name but who the victims knew. "The suspect's been to their home once before," Panos said.

About noon Thursday, the gunman had knocked on the door and after someone answered forced his way inside. There, the attempted robbery and the shootings occurred, Panos said.

Five of the couple's children -- ages 2 to 15 -- were also home at the time of the incident. They were not injured, police said.

Family members declined to discuss the shooting as they cleaned Friday morning at the home, in the 400 block of Blair Avenue.
