One direction
With men's fashion, it's all in the details. That's why Eric Glennie, 49, an Apple Valley transportation broker-turned-fashion designer, created a necktie with the stripes in the knot running in the same direction as the rest of the tie. He flips the direction of the 7½-inch segment that forms the knot to create "a cleaner, stealthier looking necktie," he said.
Glennie's "inline" ties have been spotted around the necks of ESPN anchors, sports figures Mike Ditka, Shaquille O'Neal and Terry Bradshaw, plus Twin Cities news personalities Jeff Passolt and Frank Vascellaro. The inline neckties cost $100 and are available at ericglennie.com or by e-mailing designs@ericglennie.com.
