Divorced and alone on Valentine's Day?

Rather than turning to chocolate for comfort, consider getting together with other divorcees, and attorneys, financial planners and psychologists.

If that sounds more painful than the divorce itself, take heart. Organizers of a valentine-themed divorce seminar on Saturday promise a day of celebration and support.

The two-divorcee team of Barb Greenberg and Christine Clifford is organizing the seminar. They make up the Divorcing Divas (www.divorcingdivas.net), a year-old company that provides support, education, resources and hope for a happy life on the other side of divorce.

"This celebration is about being able to move forward and realizing it's not the end ... it's the beginning," said Clifford.

"A lot of people, especially if they were the ones caught off guard by the divorce, are ... frozen in time and can't imagine their lives moving forward and don't know where to start," she said. "This celebration is about being able to move forward and realizing it's not the end ... it's the beginning."

The "Be Your Own Valentine" seminar is intended for people who are thinking of getting a divorce, going through a divorce or are already divorced.

For $75, attendees will have access to a number of resources, vendors ranging from St. Catherine's University to Mr. Handyman, and inspirational speakers, including emcee Diana Pierce of KARE-TV, Channel 11, who recently confirmed her own divorce. There will even be a class on self-defense.

And yes, there will be chocolate, too.
