Al Franken is no stranger to book covers, but this might be a first.

Minnesota's junior senator will follow in the footsteps of various caped crusaders this May when he is featured in a comic book produced by Washington State-based publisher Bluewater Productions.

The 32-page illustrated biography is part of a new Bluewater series called "Political Power," which focuses on "past and present American politicians." The company has embarked on several political bios in recent months, with subjects ranging from Ronald Reagan to Nancy Pelosi.

A Franken aide said the Senate office did not participate in the book's production.

Bluewater Executive VP Jason Schultz sends this synopsis, which paints the senator in a very positive light (the "voice of a new generation").

"Taught the importance of politics at a young age by his parents, this bio details Franken's journey from a comedian to political satirist to controversial author and radio host and ultimately to his current position as one of the most powerful people in Washington, D.C., where he is quickly gaining a reputation as the "new Lion of the Senate" and voice of a new generation and their issues in the U.S. Senate."

Rep. Michele Bachmann also got the comic book treatment last year (not from Bluewater), though it was hardly favorable of her work in Washington.
