Gov. Tim Pawlenty is traveling to Texas Wednesday to pick up some cash for his Freedom First political action committee, according to his political spokesman.

Spokesman Alex Conant said he had no other details to announce.

It's not a new pin in his travel map. The governor did some political travel in the Lone Star state in November to appear at the Republican Governors Association.

The governor is slated to be back in Minnesota on Friday to announce his bonding recommendations.Although he had no public events Tuesday, Brian McClung, his gubernatorial spokesman, said he was in his Minnesota office.

Pawlenty raised money for his PAC in Minnesota, Washington, DC and Chicago last year.

The governor has two at least two more fundraisers planned, on Jan. 19 and 21. Both of those are in Minnesota.

Pawlenty said Monday that he's already curtailed his political travel in advance of the legislative session, which starts on Feb. 4.

"We've already done that," he said. "There's some of it but it probably won't be as heavy as it was during the summer and fall."

Despite the light schedule, Pawlenty has plans to travel to Alabama on Feb. 5 to speak to Republicans, Missouri on Feb. 26 to speak to that state's Republicans and Louisiana in mid-April for the Southern Republican Leadership Conference.
