Wolves and Adelman: Let the negotiations begin...

League sources: Wolves beginning negotiations with former Houston coach

September 12, 2011 at 2:37PM

The Wolves have prepared a contract offer for Rick Adelman and are expected to know this week, perhaps as early as Monday, if they can reach a deal for him to coach their team, league sources with knowledge of the search said Sunday.

Here's the story for Monday's paper and tonight's web site.

You might have noticed Saturday's Hoopsworld.com piece that generated headlines everywhere, saying Adelman was close to reaching a deal with the Wolves and would do so sometime this coming week.

I'm not certain you can say the Wolves will offer just what he seeks -- probably five years and $25 million or more -- or when it comes down to decision time that he'll really say yes.

But we'll know soon, perhaps really soon.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
