Wine deal: Barefoot 'Impression' Red

January 24, 2015 at 8:00PM

Domestic red blends are as hot as any category in the wine world, and a big reason why is offerings such as the Barefoot "Impression" Red ($7). The nonvintage wine starts out super-jammy, then deftly straddles the line between sweet and dry. Black and blue fruit and some tropical spice pep up the midpalate and delightful finish. This is a swell barbecue wine that also should play well with pizza. It would be a superaffordable addition to those gatherings a week from today for some football game or other.

Available at Northgate, Morelli's, Hum's, Sid's Bloomington, MGM Apple Valley and Burnsville, Cub Maplewood and others.
