Rain and a few locally gusty thunderstorms will reach the interior Northeastby this afternoon, ending the exceptionally warm, sunny weather. Highs will be10-20 degrees cooler today at places such as Buffalo and Syracuse, N.Y., aswell as Burlington, Vt. The Eastern Seaboard, however, will still feel likesummer with highs in the 80s and 90s. More records will surely be set.Boston is expected to hit the 90-degree mark today, tying the record highfor the date, after temperature swings the past several days. On Monday, thecity was much cooler with a high of 64 degrees, but on Sunday the mercury hadsoared to 87.

The drastically cooler air will follow a cold front that will move intonorthern New England, upstate New York and northern Ohio during the afternoon.

On Wednesday, that front will extend from Delaware to Kentucky with all pointsnorth of that line noticing significantly lower temperatures.
