I See Mostly 40s Through Christmas Day

Under a sunny sky we should hit 40F today, with 40s almost every day through Christmas. A brown Christmas this year, except for the MN Arrowhead, which may have a few inches of snow. In spite of El Nino we will probably see snow and a few cold fronts in January. Enjoy the quiet. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Minnesotans Hopelessly Divided On El Nino

A little slush may fall near Duluth, possibly light rain in the metro Friday. Otherwise expect a brisk day today with 20s for highs, but 40s return Thursday into most of next week. In fact, long range models keep daytime highs close to 40F through New Year's Day. Odds increasingly favor a brown Christmas for most of Minnesota. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Mostly Sunny Start To The Week With Little Precipitation In Sight

It'll be a mostly sunny first few days of the work week with up and down highs - mid/upper 30s Monday and Wednesday, but upper 20s Tuesday. After that, highs leap into the 40s to end the week. The only upcoming precipitation chance could be a few rain showers Friday. - D.J. Kayser

More March-Like Weather on the Way This Week

Is this a symptom of El Nino? Yes, more than likely. Will we ever get snow? Yes, more than likely. I'm just waiting for the other boot to drop. The sun returns today with 40s (and possibly 50F again) by midweek. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Slick Roads Possible Saturday Due To Some Snow

A several-hour burst of snow will move in Saturday, dumping enough in the metro (~1", isolated 2") to coat everything white for a few days and cause some slick roads with 30 mph gusts. Cold sunshine returns Sunday with low 30s for highs. - D.J. Jayser

Record High Possible Friday Before A Saturday Burst Of Snow

Highs will near records once again Friday in the metro with more clouds than sunshine and blustery southwest winds. That's ahead of a system that'll bring up to an inch of snow across the state Friday Night into Saturday. - D.J. Kayser

A String of 40s Likely This Week

The sun should peek out today and a significant warming trend arrives midweek with more 40s, even an outside shot at 50F close to home Thursday. It should be mild enough for rain showers Friday as cooler air returns. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Snow Drought Continues Until Further Notice

A clipper may kick up a few flakes tonight. Next weekend's snowy opportunities have evaporated with a storm tracking south of Minnesota once again. Get used to it. It may become a habit much of December. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Minimal Snow Depth Around The Region

40s And Mostly Dry Into Mid-December?

Embrace 40s today with a few 50s over southwest Minnesota, in fact daytime highs may poke into the 40s late next week. I see dry weather into the weekend, with only a slight chance of slush next Monday from a clipper. Amazingly quiet out there for the time being. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Very Little Weather Drama In Sight

Yesterday was probably the coldest day for the next 2 weeks. Low 40s Wednesday will feel good, and ECMWF is hinting at a string of 40s late next week. December will start on a very temperate (tame) note, weatherwise. No headline-worthy snowstorms brewing, but a weak disturbance may spread a little slushy snow into town Saturday night and Sunday. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Driving On Snow Is A Winter Artform

No big storms in sight into at least mid-December. Another southern system may brush us with a little slush on Saturday night, but the pattern isn't favorable for white-knuckle commutes. In fact daytime highs may top 40F next weekend - I could see a string of 40s the first week of December. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

Data Seems To Favor An "Easier Winter"

A clipper arrives today with decorative flurries and winds gusting to 30mph. A week from today: a little rain. An easy winter? Probably easier than most. It would be premature to lower your guard anytime soon. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

I'd Like A New Doppler For Christmas

Clouds may leak a little "snow" on our heads later today as a storm tracks to our south. A clipper squeezes outa little slush tomorrow. Maybe a half inch? Breaking. News. I see very little snow, with a mild bias continuing. A few 40s in early December? Yep. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson

A Chilly, Drama-Free Thanksgiving Holiday

A little light rain dribbles out of a stale cloud deck this morning, but skies dry out after lunch. Wednesday looks nice with sunshine and upper 40s. A colder wind whips up Thanksgiving Day, but the sun should be shining. Check the blog for more details. -Todd Nelson
