United owner makes strong MLS hints

At a gathering of Minnesota United fans Monday, team owner Dr. Bill McGuire was quoted by mls4mn.com as saying: "What we're trying to do, and as you know we are pretty quiet about this, is fairly straightforward. We're trying to do something that will bring soccer to the community at an increasingly higher professional level."

United and the Vikings are both vying for an MLS franchise, but United has been much more secretive about the pursuit. While McGuire's comments are hardly an indication that United is declaring victory in gaining a franchise, they were interesting nonetheless.
