Twin Cities teachers rally around safety

Teachers from Minneapolis and St. Paul schools held a rally Wednesday afternoon, calling for the districts to address a variety of issues to make sure schools are safe and equitable during the pandemic. They want to negotiate issues of safety and academic quality, address staffing ratios and hazard pay for education support professionals, make sure any future transition to from distance to hybrid learning is done safely and equitably, improve distance learning conditions and internet access, and acknowledge funding disparities that often affect districts with many students of color. The rally held Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 near the Lake Street bridge in Minneapolis.
