JORDAN
School board getting a new member The Jordan school board will swear in a new member at its Monday meeting.
In a 3-2 vote, the board chose Robert Vollbrecht over four other candidates for the position at its Aug. 24 meeting, said Superintendent Kirk Nelson.
Vollbrecht will replace Sheila Bauer, who resigned in July. Bauer said she was leaving largely because of tension between her and another board member with different "professional and political ideologies."
Other district leaders have identified that board member as Joe Benko.
Vollbrecht will serve the rest of Bauer's term, which runs through 2011.
