Only light rain and snow showers are anticipated today in northern California and Oregon as well as in the northern Rockies. The culprit is a weak storm that has been spinning off the coast of the Pacific Northwest.

At most, 1-3 inches of snow will fall over the mountains of the region at pass level.

Later in the week, bigger storms will start to roll into the region and could cause trouble southward through the Los Angeles Basin.
