A St. Paul man with a history of peeping into women's windows was charged again Wednesday after police searched his home and found numerous videos of women, including images of a naked teenage girl.

John D. Searle, 44, was charged in Ramsey County District Court with surreptitious interference with privacy — new charges stemming from evidence found during an investigation of other peeping incidents.

In September, he was charged with looking into the windows of college-age women in the 2000 block of Ashland Avenue and the 1700 block of Portland Avenue in St. Paul.

As part of that investigation, police reviewed an external hard drive that belonged to Searle and found several videos of women and couples "as they were being recorded without their apparent knowledge inside their residences from outside of a window," the complaint says.

One of the videos showed a naked 18-year-old female in a bedroom. She told police that it appeared the video had been taken this past July.

Those images led to the new charges against Searle.

Searle has five previous felony convictions for harassment and stalking and four previous gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor convictions for interfering with privacy from cases dating back to the 1990s, as well as a felony conviction for interfering with privacy in Hennepin County.
