Recipe: All-Purpose Dry Rub

All-Purpose Dry Rub √

Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Note: While many rubs have salt and sugar as their dominant ingredients, this versatile version uses a lighter touch, allowing it to be used in a number of different dishes. From Meredith Deeds.

• 1/2 c. paprika

• 1/4 c. light brown sugar

• 1/4 c. garlic powder

• 2 tbsp. onion powder

• 2 tbsp. salt

• 1 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper

• 2 tbsp. chili powder

• 1 tbsp. oregano

• 1 tsp. cayenne

Directions

Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl. Whisk thoroughly to break up any lumps. Store in an airtight container.
