Abernathy, George D. Jr. Age 79, of St. Francis, died peacefully at home with his loving family on 5/31/15. Preceded in death by his great-grandson, Jase Abernathy; parents, George and Mae Abernathy and brother, Roland "Jiggs" Abernathy. Survived by loving wife of 60 years, Frances; children, Linda (Mike), Mike (Kaye), Kathy (John), Jennifer (Frank), Roberta (Joe), Meg (Dewey), Sabrina (Doug), Shane, George (Trish) and Denise (Don); grandchildren, Brian, Matt, Tina, Nick, Shannon, Samantha, Rachel, Sara, Alicia, Jared, Josh, Jessica, Caitlin, Alyssa, Trevor, Madison, Courtni and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Keaton, Eddie, Lauryn, Abby and Serenity; sister, Liz (Virgil) Carlson; many nieces and nephews. George was a member of the Teamsters, Knights of Columbus and a long time employee of Kemps Ice Cream. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Thursday 6/4/15 at THE CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY, 11001 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids.
