Vos, John Peter age 87 of Mpls, found peace on March 16, 2015 at his home with his son at his side. John was born in Cologne MN on February 5th, 1928, the 4th child of Leonard & Anna Vos. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Mpls where he volunteered for numerous activities and events, including the Food Shelf. He spent countless hours volunteering in the community at charities such as St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store, Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly, the local Food Shelf, and Loaves and Fishes where he delivered day old bread for the needy. Loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, John enjoyed being with family and friends - sharing his wry sense of humor and generous nature. He was proud of his small back yard garden, which he tended with his wife, Agnes, of 54 years. He was always happy to share the delicious raspberry jam, pickles, and tomatoes the garden yielded. John was preceded in death by his wife Agnes; parents, Leonard & Anna Vos; siblings Austin; Mercel (Laverne); and Evelyn (Thomas) Heiland. John is survived by his son, Greg (DeeDee); granddaughter Caitlyn; brothers, Fr. Thomas; and Tony; sister Rosie (Ray) Peitz; sister-in-law Betty Vos; and many nephews and nieces. Visitation is Saturday, March 21st from 10:30 AM - Noon at Incarnation Catholic Church - 3817 Pleasant Ave S, Mpls. with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Incarnation or Franciscan Missionary Union (St. Louis, MO) are preferred. Washburn-McReavy.com Davies Chapel 612-377-2203
