Winstead Wilbur C. "Windy" Winstead, age 85, of Bloom- ington. Born June 17, 1920 in Union, Mississippi and remained proud of his Southern roots until his death August 9, 2005. Retired 30-year carpet salesman from Dayton's. Member of the 1st Marine Division landing at Guadalcanal. Former active member at Christ the King parish and KCYO youth basketball coach for 15 years. Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Survived by beloved wife of 58 years, Ginny; 5 children, Linda Winstead, Gene (Debbie), Mary (Peter Blewett) Winstead, Ann (Tim) Straub and Lizz Winstead; 9 grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Von Eschen, Sara Winstead, Becky (John) Waldock, Sam, Joe and Sarah Breckenridge, Heidi, Daniel and Christopher Straub; 3 great-granddaughters; sister, Etoile Gordon of Meridan, MS; many nieces & nephews in MS. 10 AM visitation Saturday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, both at the Church of the Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Ave S.
