Boedigheimer Bernard H. Boedigheimer "Boedy", age 85, was called home by his Heavenly Father on June 30, 2005. Preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Rose; brothers, Leonard and James; sisters, Leona (Sample), Marie (Herrian); and first wife, Estelle. Boedy is survived by his wife of twenty years, Lorene; daughter, Ann Frillman; granddaughters, Heather (Mark) Erichsrud and Kelley Frillman; many nieces and nephews. Boedy was born Sept. 25, 1919 in Perham, MN and was raised on a nearby farm on the Ottertail River. He served his country as an Army sergeant during World War II, from January, 1942 to November, 1945, including D-Day at Utah Beach. Her has five battle stars. Boedy later worked for Mpls. Moline, Roger Hydraulics and in 1964 joined Northwest Airlines as a machinist. He retired from Northwest in 1984. Boedy was a member of the Everett McClay VFW Post 1298, American Legion Post in Richfield and IAMAW Airline Local 1833 Retiree Social Club. Boedy married Lorene Lunderborg in 1984 and they moved to Eagan, MN. Boedy and Lorene enjoyed traveling in retirement and wintered in Weslaco, Texas. Boedy was a life-long fisherman, and spent many days, winter and summer, on the MN Lakes he loved. He especially loved being at his daughter's cabin and watching the loons from the deck. He was an amateur woodworker known for his scroll saw clocks, and a usually-loyal Twins fan. Boedy has been greatly loved as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. Always ready with a smile and a joke or story, his warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness to others will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Mass will be held on July 5, 2005 at 11 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 1405 Highway 13, Mendota, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Peter, building fund. Cremation Society of MN Mpls. 612-825-2435
