Bruce Smith, long time resident of Plymouth and Alexandria, MN passed away on October 17, 2014, at his home in Scottsdale, AZ at the age of 79. His family, to whom he always gave and received unconditional love, surrounded him. He is survived by his loving family including his devoted wife of 35 years, Susan of Scottsdale, AZ; son David (Lori) Hansson and grand-daughters Rachel and Natalie of Brooklyn Park; daughter Laura (Jake) Girard and grandson expected in February of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Barbara Cooperman of Cabo, Mexico; many other relatives and friends. His parents Sherman and Geraldine Smith preceded him in death. Bruce successfully ran his own accounting business for over forty years. Helping his loyal clients each and every year was a true passion, only retiring after this recent tax season when he became ill. He also served as a Trustee of the Onan Family Foundation for nearly fifty years helping and providing support and service to the community. Bruce possessed a special sense of humor and could always make those around him laugh with his dry and witty comments. He loved the Minnesota Vikings, anything chocolate, and his beloved dog Peanut. But nothing brought him more joy, happiness and confidence than the life he built with Susan. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bruce was truly one of a kind and will be missed every day. Special thanks to all relatives, friends and clients for the love, support, prayers and positive thoughts sent during his fierce battle with cancer. At Bruce's request, private family services have been held.
