Goerne, Paul U. age 73, of Hopkins, MN, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2014 and was re-united with his parents Sather and Helen and his sister Barbara Pallesen. A dear father and proud grandfather, he is survived by daughter Brenda (John) Mar-quardt and grandchildren Sawyer and Sidney Marquardt. He was a loving and devoted brother to Terrance Goerne and Robert (Nancy) Goerne. A smart and successful businessman, Paul owned and operated a parking lot in Milwaukee for many years. He loved bowling, playing cards, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at Lake Vermilion in Cook, MN. Later in life, he enjoyed good conversation, reading his bible, playing his ukulele and singing for others. A cherished uncle who was loved and will be greatly missed by: nieces and nephews, Michael Goerne, Kathleen (Jed) Holl, Kevin Goerne, Erik (Dorthe) Pallesen and Linda Ann (Henning Hertel Hoejfeldt) Pallesen; and great nieces and nephews, Mille and Sofus Pallesen, Tilde Hertel Hoejfeldt Pallesen and Charlotte Holl. Paul was a true blessing to his family and lived a life focused on faith, hope and love. He will be remem-bered for his sense of humor, generosity and unconditional love for everyone. On behalf of the family, a very heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at Golden Living Center in Hopkins for their exceptional and com-passionate care and Asera Hospice Care for their support in Paul's final days. A private interment will be held at a later date in Cook, MN. Paul, you will always be loved, remembered and missed.
