Winsness, Sharon Rae Anderson age 71 of Lakeville, Minnesota. Passed away on July 14, 2014 with family and friends by her side after a brave battle with pancrea- tic cancer. Survived by husband, Gary Hulin; son, W. Scott Winsness; daughter, Amy (Kirk) Aadalen; brothers, Ron (Gayle) Anderson and Brad (Barb Costello) Anderson; grandchildren, Anika and Luke Aadalen; niece, Nicky Thurmond (Jim) and nephew, Russell (Jill); as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Elaine (Alfson) Anderson. Sharon was born on May 1, 1943 into a hardworking, proud Norwegian farming family in Pekin, North Dakota. Always bright and entrepreneurial, Sharon was valedictorian of her high school class before heading to the University of North Dakota and eventually Minneapolis. After marrying Warren Winsness and starting a family, Sharon became successful in real estate sales before becom- ing one of the first female managers at Frank Kreiser Realty. Never playing it safe, Sharon transitioned to become a financial advisor at Smith Barney Harris Upham & Co. where she was again one of the first females hired into that predominantly male industry. It was in wealth planning she found a home where she was dedicated and devoted advocate for her clients. Her efforts were rewarded with relationships that spanned generations as well as admiration and awards for her service. Sharon's other passion was horses; and she spent much of her free time riding her beloved Peruvian Passos with her soul mate and husband of 23 years, Gary Hulin, and their loyal group of "horsey" friends. Although her journey here has ended, Sharon touched the lives of so many throughout her years, and her amazing spirit lives on in all those she knew and cared for. Memorial service to be held at 3PM (visitation at 2PM) on July 31st at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church (5025 Knox Ave S., Minneapolis MN 55419). Celebration of Life immediately following from 4PM-7:30PM at the Edina Country Club (5100 Wooddale Ave., Edina MN 55424).
