Bliss, Linda Elizabeth Died July 12, 2014, a long time educa-tor in the metro area. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, January 14, 1940, living there until the age of 9, then moving to Chicago, IL and graduating from Morgan Park High School in 1958. She earned a B.A. from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 1962, majoring in Art with a French minor. In 1979, she graduated from the University of Minnesota with an M.A. in Art Edu-cation and licensures in helping students with learning differences and severe emotional disturbances. She taught all ages from pre-school through college from 1968 until re-tiring in 2002 and then as a teacher emeritus from 2002 until 2011, mostly at St. Joseph's Home for Children, a Minneapolis Public School site. Her joys in life were her children and grandchildren, Bible studies, drawing and painting, reading, history, traveling, hiking, building a cabin in Wisconsin, and kayaking. She especially liked drawing pencil portraits of students and oil paintings of family and friends. She is survived by her 4 children: Tim, Mike, Lisa, and Josh, daughters-in-law, Yuphin and Barb, 8 grandchildren: John, Kelsey, Cody, Brita, Sam, Quinn, Joaquin, and Joshua James, a special friend, Buck Samuelson and his daughter Kari, and Joan Bliss and her family in California. Memorials preferred to St. Joseph's Home for Children Education De-partment or Christ Presbyterian Church. Memorial service was Wednesday, July 16, at Christ Presbyterian Church.
