Havlik, Sandra "Kitty" 74, of St. Michael, passed away July 6, 2014 at home with family and friends at her side. She was born Sept 30, 1939 in Hallock, MN. Kitty will be sadly missed by her husband of 31 years, Michael; daughter, Michele (Tom) Cady; sons, James Haugen and Timothy (Amy) Haugen; step-sons, Richard Havlik and Robert (Jill) Havlik; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle), Meghan, MacKenzie, Kelsey, and Briggs; step-grandchildren, David, Stephen (Grace), Jonathan, Hailey, and Faith; step-great granddaughter, Ezra; siblings, Roger (Donna) Mathews, Shirley (Ken) Lester; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and great friends. Preceded in death by mother and father, John and Kathleen Mathews; parents, Ed and Mary Curtis; brother, Lloyd Mathews; sister, Marthamae Hanna. Kitty touched many lives. This was evident in her final days, people of all ages and walks of life told her how important her friendship was. Faith, family and friends were very important to her. She was a church business administrator for Scared Heart Church in Robbinsdale for many years. Kitty shared her beautiful voice in church choirs and with the St Michael senior center. She prayed daily, loved her grandchildren, and loved any baby she saw. Kitty played a mean game of poker, bridge, and cribbage. As a seamstress she sewed jackets for friends, blankets for babies, and supposedly prayed in between changing bobbins at sewing retreats. Kitty survived chemo, two lung operations, a brain tumor operation, radiation, and the gamma radiation knife. Her faith pulled her through. Special thanks to North Memorial Hospice Care, Synergy Home Care, Kitty's Faith Sharing Group, and our neighbors who watched over her. Visitation will be Tues, July 22, 5-8 pm at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park. Memorial Mass will be Wed, July 23, 10:30 am, at St Michael Catholic Church, St Michael, MN, with a visitation 1 hr prior to Mass. Interment will be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery. Memorials preferred to North Memorial Foundation.
