Friedman, Sandra L. age 86, of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully on August 17th. Survived by loving family: son, Kirk (Donna); son-in-law, John Williams & grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Molly and Sam; and sister, Abbey (Arnold) Lieber and their children. Preceded in death by parents, Martha and Morris Kirk; husband, Paul and daughter, Kathie F.Williams. Sandra grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended the University of Michigan and Brooklyn College. After starting a teaching career, she met the love of her life, Paul, on a blind date in NYC. Paul easily convinced Sandra to move to his hometown of Minneapolis, and it truly became her home as well, as they raised their family, nurtured friendships, and built a wonderful life together. Sandra eventually went back to college to earn a degree in library science, and spent over 30 years as librarian in the Robbinsdale schools. She also served as an active member in many community organizations, enhancing the lives of countless people with her passion for justice, humor, zest for life, and uncompromising candor. The family extends appreciation to the Allina Hospice team and to the staff at Sholom Home West. Funeral service MONDAY, AUGUST 21ST, 2:00 PM, TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2323 Fremont Ave. S., Minneapolis.
