John LaMont 'Jack' Herzog

Herzog, John Lamont "Jack" Age 82 of Bloomington died at home March 16, 2017 of cancer. Preceded in death by parents Clarence and Irene Herzog; brother James Herzog; and sister Eleanor Anderson. Survived by wife of 57 years Carmen Herzog; son Kurt (Jeanne) Herzog; Eric (Heidi) Herzog; grandchildren Max Herzog, Erin and John Herzog; sister Carol Vandenberg; sister-in-law Donna Herzog; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jack was in the Army from 1958 to 1960. Jack received his BA from Hamline University in 1958 and MA from the University of Minnesota-Mankato in 1967. Jack taught English at Riverland Community College from 1967 to 1980 and Normandale Community College from 1980 to 1998. Jack was a member of Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bloomington and enjoyed singing in the choir. Jack enjoyed reading, especially the New Yorker magazine, photography and music (particularly traditional jazz). Memorial service Sunday, May 7, 3:00 PM at Minnesota Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 10715 Zenith Avenue So., Bloomington. Lunch following service.
