Caster, Donald R. age 87, born in Worthington, Minnesota, entered into God's presence on September 3rd, 2013 near his home in Minnetonka. Preceded in death by parents Harold Caster and Bessie (Baker) Caster, sister Wanda Borgwardt and nephew Mark Borgwardt. Don wed Lorraine Faith Nyquist on July 21st, 1951. Don is survived by his wife, Lorraine; daughters, Cynthia (Lanning) Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO and Melissa Kornmann of Oakville, WA; sons, Todd (Mary Ellen) Caster of West Palm Beach, FL and Ross Caster of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Benjamin Anderson, Seth Caster, Brittany Norris, Sara Caster, Casey Caster, Tessa Milholland, and Siobhan Caster; step-grandchildren, David, Katie and Jessica Kornmann; 15 great-grandchildren; nephews, Eric and Paul Borgwardt and their respective families. Don was a WWII veteran who served with the First Marines in the South Pacific (1943-1946). After serving his country, he began a career in civil engineering. He was devoted to nature and the environment, loved many outdoor activities, and spent much of his time reading and traveling. He was a long-time member of Excelsior Covenant Church. A service celebrating Don's life will be held at Excelsior Covenant Church at 11 AM on September 14th; visitation one hour prior. 3 PM graveside service at Sunrise Cemetery, North Branch, MN.
