Fuller, Charles Andrew (Andy) Passed away peacefully on June 27 at Walker Place, Minneapolis, surrounded by his family. Andy was born in Minneapolis August 9, 1929 to Charles Alfred & Martha Tritch Fuller. He grew up in Minneapolis, went to Washburn High School, then on to Kenyon College in Ohio, where he graduated in 1952. Andy contracted polio in his teens and never let his resulting handicap slow him down. He spent most of his working life as an investment and bond trader until he retired in the late 80s. Andy volunteered at Courage Center from 1981 on, logging more than 5,000 volunteer hours. He served on the Courage Center Board of Directors, Camera Club, Connect with Courage Committee and as a tour guide. He was recognized by Courage Center, and by Congressman Jim Ramstad for his outstanding dedication and service, and is much-loved by the staff, volunteers, visitors and clients. As a representative of Courage Center, he received an award at the White House from President George H. W. Bush. As a legacy member of Minnesota Nature Conservancy, Andy's long support will continue to live on. The City of Minnetonka recently recognized Andy for donating a permanent conservation easement on his property. A very special place for Andy was Pine Valley in Wisconsin ever since the first time he went as a child to his family's cabin. Eventually, it passed to him and he spent countless days enjoying the trout fishing, fly-tieing and savoring the wilderness and quietude. Though he traveled widely to fascinating historical, natural and cultural places in the US and around the world, Andy's heart and life were always in the Twin Cities. Andy was pre-deceased by his beloved wife "Pepper" - Priscilla Paine Fuller, his parents and his sister, Virginia Fuller Sutherland. He is survived by children: Stephanie Brody (Ernest-Minneapolis), Sherry Lewis (Jim Logan-Fairbanks, Alaska and Flagstaff, Arizona), Cilla Garvan (Steve-Sandpoint, Idaho), Lark Lewis (Minnetonka), Hanley Lewis (Denise Prince-Chanhassen), and grandchildren Tanya Brody (Minneapolis), Raina Brody (UK), Kelsey Thompson (Minnetonka), niece Mary Sutherland (Minneapolis), nephew Mark Sutherland (Melissa-St. Paul), nephew John Sutherland (Melissa- Portland, Oregon), and niece Gina Sutherland (Robert Newton-Coos Bay, Oregon) and his erstwhile feline companion Toby. Private family graveside service will be held. A service along with a grand celebration of Andy's life, as he wished, complete with Dixieland band will be held August 16, details available later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Courage Center-Andrew Fuller Fund 763-588-0811 or couragecenter.org OR the Minnesota Nature Conservancy 612-331-0750 or Minnesota@tnc.org
