Anderson, Mary Jane age 59, sadly and very reluctantly left us on June 1 following a courageous eight- month battle with leukemia. Preceded in death by parents, Daris and Marjorie Vicars and mother-in-law, Joyce Anderson. Survived by Mark, husband of 34 years; sons, Matthew and Benjamin (wife Shannon Harmon); grandson, Logan and sister, Judy Vicars. Also survived by father- in-law, Paul Anderson; sisters-in-law, Mary Olsen and Debbie Lilja (Kent); brothers-in-law, Rick (Kathy) and Jim; aunts, Jerre Miller and Patricia Wise; cousins, nieces and nephews. Jane had a gift for everything culinary and prepared wonderful meals for family and friends. She loved her daily crossword puzzle and she and Mark had dreamed of retiring one day to the Oregon coast. Jane will be remembered for her love of family and will be tremendously missed by family, friends and coworkers. Jane's family would like to thank the dozens of doctors, nurses, aides and caregivers on Stations 20 and 30 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Thanks also to the nurses at the ANW Infusion Center, and to the caring staff at MOHPA. If you have ever donated blood or platelets, your gift gave us more time together and we thank you. We are especially grateful to hospital chaplain Paula Bidle for marrying Ben and Shannon in Jane's hospital room on May 27 during a week that gave us both greatest joy and deepest sorrow. Thanks to ANW food services for providing a wedding luncheon for the newlyweds. A memorial service celebrating Jane's life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Ave. S., Mpls. on Sunday, June 7 at 4:00 p.m. with visitation at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Spiritual Care Department at Abbott Northwestern Hospital (800 E. 28th St., Mpls. 55407) c/o Paula Bidle. Your gift will help provide a Respite Room for loved ones of families finding themselves in long-term or sudden critical healthcare circumstances.
