Moede, John M. Age 82 of St. Paul on Nov. 24 of complications of Parkinson's disease. John graduated from the University of WI at Madison and earned a Masters in clinical social work from the University of Denver. He worked to help children and families in several mental health settings, including 20 years at Wilder Child Guidance Clinic in St. Paul, retiring from Hennepin County in a program that worked with families before child protection was needed. John was a humanist with a passion for sailing, old cars, music, especially jazz, liberal causes, the natural world and his family. Preceded in death by his father, Otto Fredrick and his beloved mother, Anna Etzel Moede. Survived by life partner Mary Ann McLeod, daughters, Robin Moede (Joel Lagerquist) and Gail Moede Rogall (Ben), their mother, his former wife, Jean Moede, grandchildren Bjorn and Anna Rogall, and sister, Louise Lex. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 1pm, Jan. 9, 2016, First Unitarian Society, 900 Mt. Curve Ave., Minneapolis.
