Spillane, John "Jack" Jr. of Deephaven passed away peacefully at the age of 91, May 3, 2024. Jack was born in Lowell, Mass November 7, 1932. After attending the University of Connecticut he began his business career in sales with Proctor & Gamble. Jack’s political background began by managing the congressional campaign for Elva Dawson Walker. Elva and Jack were married for 39 years until her death in 2001. In 1967 Jack and Elva purchased and merged National Soap and Purity Soap companies. The business was sold to Jack’s son, Sean, in 2002 who ran the company until his death in 2021. Jack was a 38 year member of Lafayette Club serving as President in 1995. Jack was a member of many company boards including the Salvation Army where he served as Chair 1996-1998, St. Catherine’s University, Catholic Eldercare Board, and University of Minnesota Nursing Board. Jack was preceded in death by wife Ann (Dunion) Spillane, wife Elva (Walker) Spillane, son Sean, brother Bud (Geraldine). He is survived by brother Joe (Judy), daughter-in-law Debra Kopischke Spillane, many friends, nieces, and nephews. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to School of Nursing Foundation at the University of Minnesota or The Salvation Army would be appreciated. Mass on Tuesday, May 14 at 11AM at St. Therese of Deephaven, 18325 Minnetonka Blvd, Wayzata, MN, with visitation one hour prior.
