Lia-Hoagberg, Betty Age 88 of Mpls, died Jan 12, 2024. Betty was a loving mom, friend, world traveler, nurse, teacher, advocate for moms and babies. She lived in kinship with nature and was an avid gardener. Betty made everyone's day brighter through a warm smile, helping hand or listening heart. Known for her vitality, she led four wards at Hennepin County Medical Cntr and served as Assoc Professor in the UMN Schools of Nursing and Public Health. Born in Detroit Lakes, MN, Betty was preceded in death by parents Lucille and Iver Lia and husband Rudolph Hoagberg. She was the proud mother of five children, Sarah (Rod), Jim (Natalie), Nancy (Joe), Mia (Mike), Amy (Max); ten grandchildren, Micah, Patrick, Nicole, Jonathan, Jared, Joshua, Matt, Emma, Hugo, Corinne; and great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, May 17 at Bethlehem Lutheran, 4100 Lyndale Ave S, Mpls. Visitation 10 AM, Life Celebration 11 AM, gathering afterward. Bring a flower to the celebration to create bouquets.
