Schroeder, Reginald Dean age 88, of Bloomington, MN died April 22, 2024 of heart failure. Reg organized and was President of the R.D. Schroeder Company, an executive search firm which he ran for 31 years. Previously, he had a 30-year career in sales and management in the animal nutrition industry working for Vita Plus, International Multifoods, Michigan Farm Bureau, Quali-Tech, Cenex, and Cargill. He was a past board member of Michigan Grain and Agri Dealers Association and Cooperative Research Farms. He was a partner with son Ryan, of Schroeder Properties, LLC, a rental real estate business for 32 years. Reg was born May 29, 1935 in the Township of Woodland, Sauk County, Wisconsin. His parents, Paul and Leona (Schmidt) Schroeder and brother, Sidney, preceded him in death. Reg graduated from Wonewoc High School. Reg and Joan (Joann) met in 6th grade at St. Paul's Lutheran school and were married on October 23, 1954, 69 years ago, in that same church. His lifelong career in the agriculture industry required the family to live in many locations, including: Madison, WI; Rochester, MN; Hoopeston, IL; Nappanee, IN; New Hampton, IA; Okemos, MI; and Edina, MN. Reg is remembered for his high level of energy, optimism, honesty, and exceptional memory of people he interacted with in the Ag industry. He and Joan traveled to most of the U.S. states, the provinces of Canada and Mexico many times. International travel took them to 24 countries. They were continually remodeling and redecorating the houses they lived in along with all the work of owning rental property. Survivors include wife Joan; their four sons: Steven of Cedar Rapids, IA.; Ryan (Patricia Wilder) of St. Paul, MN; Wayne (Carla) of Colleyville, TX; and Mark (Linda) of Hong Kong, China. Eight grandchildren: Brandon (Jennifer), Stuart, Dustin, Jaime (Casey), Addison, Camryn, Landon and Lorelyn. Eight great grandchildren: Lucas, Levi, Liam, Leo, Jace Schroeder and Ryan, Sam and Ella Windsperger. Other survivors are Ellen Schroeder, Hillsboro, WI and brother-in-law Joseph (Lou) Moll, McFarland, WI and many nieces and nephews. A service of praise and thanksgiving will be celebrated on May 13, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Cross View Lutheran church, 6645 McCauley Trail, West, Edina, MN 55439.
