Meuwissen, Andrew Cyril of Eden Prairie, MN passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Born on December 27, 1935 in Cologne, MN. He graduated from St. John's Preparatory in 1952 and proudly served in the US Army from 1954-56. Andrew met his wife of 63 years, Viola Mosher, at a dance in Cologne. They married on August 13, 1960. Graduating with a business degree from the University of MN in 1961, the couple moved to Buffalo, NY where he began his career with Liberty Mutual Ins. Co. In 1968 they returned to MN with their five children to work for Peavy Company until 1982 when he became president of State Fund Mutual Ins. Co. Andy and Vi travelled extensively throughout the world. Upon retiring, they enjoyed spending time at their winter home in Sarasota, FL. Andy loved reading, investing, sports and spending time with family, especially following the activities of his grandchildren. Andrew is survived by his beloved wife Viola and their five children, Carolinda (Bob) Snyder, Lori Wanzek, Tom (Nancy) Meuwissen, Gwyn (Rick) Hausman and Lynn (Matt) Sharratt. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 on Friday, October 20th at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie.
