Leonard, James S. age 74, of Minneapolis, passed away at the Minnesota Veteran's Home on Wednesday afternoon March 16, 2022. He retired from Target Corporation in May, 2009, after 6 years of service. Previously, he worked for Presbyterian Homes of Lake Minnetonka, Benson Optical, and Super Valu. He served his country in the Army, 101st Airborne Division, during the Vietnam War from March, 1968 to February, 1970. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Marie, and wife, Vivian. Survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Elaine; daughter, Michelle Leonard and son-in-law, Nick Bratovich; plus, many extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Minneapolis Veteran's Home for their excellent care of James for the past 10+ years. Services were held March 24 at Washburn-McReavy and burial was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis, MN.
