Bollig, Kenneth Gerald Age 87 of Bloomington passed away January 15, 2022. Preceded in death by wife Beverly Bollig, parents Peter and Rose Bollig, brothers Marvin and Richard, and grandson Peter Bollig. Survived by sons Bruce (Cindy) Bollig, Todd (Harriet) Bollig; grandchildren, Kevin (Jessie) Bollig, Kelly Forster, Laura Bollig, Blair (Allie) Bollig, Alexa (Cody) Lambert; great-grandchildren, Colton and Bryce Bollig, Conrad, and Jameson Lambert. Ken was born March 18, 1934, in Wayzata, Mn, grew up in Hopkins and graduated from Hopkins High school. Ken served in the Army Reserves for 4 years. Ken met his wife Beverly at a dance at the American Legion Hall in Chanhassen. They married in 1956 at St Hubert Church and celebrated 61 years of marriage. Ken was one of the founders of Bollig and Sons Excavating Company in Hopkins along with his father and brothers. The family business is now in its 4th generation, thriving for the past 64 years on the values, morals, and work ethic instilled in it from the beginning. Ken was an active, lifetime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Minnetonka and was active in many civic organizations. Ken enjoyed the outdoors with his wife Beverly wherever they were at the time, either up North, at home or in Florida, camping, fishing, and golfing. Ken was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ken loved being around people. He was gracious, kind and caring with everyone he met.
