Schrempp, Del Joseph age 90 of Big Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was born October 28, 1931 in Fordyce, Nebraska, the son of Harry John and Marcella Frances (Roth) Schrempp. Del proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the St. Michael American Legion Post 567. He was also a 40 year member of the Local Union 653 Meat Cutters Association. He loved playing and listening to music, especially playing his guitar with his family. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. He was dearly loved by all who knew him! Preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marcella Schrempp; beloved wife, Lorraine Hope Schrempp; children, Doug Halek, Peter Halek, Rick Halek, Linda (Tuck) Thompson; sister, Arlene O'Neill; and brothers, Dean and Larry Schrempp. Del will be missed by his children, Debbie Schrempp, Jeff Schrempp (Ruth), Sharon Schrempp (David), Mary Jo (Paul) Edlund, Jim Schrempp, Michael (Karen) Schrempp, Paul (Deb) Halek, Tom (Michelle) Halek, Lisa (Todd) Newstrom; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother Dick (Fran) Schrempp; sister-in-law, Eileen Schrempp; and many other family and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at The Peterson Chapel, 300 Main St N, St. Michael, MN (763-497-5362). Burial will be held at a later date at the Minnesota Veteran's Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
