Holden, Ronald E. of Plymouth, passed away November 7, 2021 at age 74. A 1965 graduate of Eleva Strum Central High School in Eleva, Wisconsin. Graduated from Augsburg College in Mpls. in 1969. Ron volunteered for the Peace Corps for 3 years in Nepal starting in 1969. He started as a senior engineering aide and then became a building inspector for the city of Fridley in 1973. He spent most of his career working for the University of Minnesota as a building inspector, working up to the position of university building official. He ended his 33 year career there with the construction of the TCF football stadium. Ron was a take charge person from early on. A student at a small high school, he played offense, defense, kicker, and pep band conductor at halftime for his football team. (His school was conference champions his junior and senior year.) He was president of Kelly's grade school PTSO and Mark's soccer coach. Ron was also a very loving and thoughtful person who cared deeply for everyone around him. He had a dry sense of humor and could fix anything you put in front of him. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Emil 'Joe' Holden and Florence Larson Holden. He is loved & will be deeply missed by Sharon, his wife of 47 years; children, Mark Holden (Meghan) and Kelly Holden; grandsons Alex and Jacob Holden. Funeral Service 11:00 am Friday (Nov. 12th) at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth, 12235 Old Rockford Road. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at church (masks required). Interment Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth or Second Harvest Heartland. Live stream available through the church's Facebook page.
