Violet M. Griebel
Griebel, Violet M. age 93 of Bloomington (formerly New Ulm) died peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Searles. Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in rural Searles. Visitation will be from 9-11 am on Saturday at the church in Searles. Condolences: mvfh.org Violet is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great-nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded by her parents; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith Griebel, Anna (Joseph) Brandl, Gertrude Griebel, Roselyn (Cletus) Reinhart; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubart (Francis) Griebel, Al (Lucille) Griebel, William "Bill" (Arlene) Griebel, Martin (Cecelia) Griebel, Joseph (Luella) Griebel, Benjamin Griebel, and Frank Griebel. Violet Mary Griebel was born February 18, 1928, in Cottonwood Township to Joseph Sr. and Anna (Reinhart) Griebel. She attended country grade school and was a 1946 graduate from New Ulm High School. Violet attended one year of nurses training at St. Olaf in Northfield, but soon after went into a career in accounting. Violet worked as an accountant in the metro area at such places as Standard Oil, Kraft, and Blue Cross before eventually retiring from Toro in 1993. Besides her work as an accountant, Violet also modeled in the metro area. Violet will forever be remembered by her family as a beautiful, intelligent, confident and classy woman. She always knew how to make you feel special and important and always had time for her nieces and nephews and the next generation of great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Blessed be her memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Divine Providence, Habitat for Humanity, or the donor's choice.
