Johnson, Judith M. "Judy" was born on May 29, 1946 in Mankato, MN to August and Alice Johnson. She grew up in Lake Crystal and Albert Lea, MN. After Judy graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1968 she joined the teaching staff of the Bloomington, Mn school district where she spent her entire career teaching German to junior and senior high school students. The highlight of most years was either taking her students to Germany or hosting students from Germany in many Minneapolis area homes. Above all else Judy loved to travel and loved sharing her experiences with others. Judy will be greatly missed by her sisters, Jeanne (David) Sumnicht, Richfield, and Diane (Mike) Vietor, Sorrento, Fl, nieces Kate Bispala and Sara Anderson, nephews Cory Vietor, Chad Vietor and Matthew Sumnicht, eleven great nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her great wit, her love of her nieces and nephews, her dedication to her students and her passion for human rights. Respecting Judy's wishes, there will be no public gathering to remember her life. Friends might want to honor her legacy with a donation to Planned Parenthood, Stand With Trans or Honor the Earth (Dakota Access Pipeline). A special thank you to the staff at Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington and Memories Hospice for their loving care of Judy at the end of her life.
