Evans, Glen R. Age 74 of Minneapolis passed away February 10, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Ruth and Earl, and brother, Don. Survived by wife, Mary; children, Melanie (Patrick Hammond) and Eric; brother Kent (Roberta) and many nieces, nephews and family. Glen was one of three boys raised as baseball players by their father, aka Lefty Evans. He was a high school athlete at DeLaSalle High School and a University of Minnesota graduate. He made life-long friends at both schools and throughout his decades-long career as a successful grocery salesman. Glen was a collector. He collected friends, memories, obscure facts, wine and records. He was a loyal friend and found simple ways to make people feel welcome and remembered. He looked for the positive in people and events. He loved strong coffee and bad jokes. Glen worked incredibly hard and by his actions, he showed his family how much he loved them. He left a legacy of family traditions, including giant Christmas trees and a love of baseball. Glen's greatest joy was family. Glen was a devout Catholic and private family services were held at St. Joan of Arc Church. A memorial will be held when friends and family can gather again. Donations can be sent to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
