Frey, George J. died on January 8th, 2021 in Naples, Florida. He was born to Mary and Joseph Frey in St. Paul, MN on May 4, 1920. He graduated from Cretin High School and the University of Minnesota in 1946. He served as an officer in the USAAF in WWII. He married Ann Barbour on June 19, 1946. George was a Certified Public Accountant who joined KPMG, at the time called Peat Marwick Mitchell, in 1946 as one of the Washington DC office's first recruits. He later moved to Minneapolis in 1949 where he started the St. Paul office and spent most of his career. He was made a partner in 1957. In 1972 he then joined the Department of Professional Practice (DPP) and spent seven years in the New York office before retiring to Florida in 1980. His entire career was spent with KPMG. George was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Nancy, in 1961, his loving wife of 53 years, Ann, in 1999 and his brother Joseph (Rita) in 2020. He is survived by four children, George (Diane), Mark (Joan), Lucy Power (William), and Paul (Patricia); two brothers, Richard (Dottie), and Gene (Mary), seven grand-children, Suzanne Buchmann (Joe), Amy Rodgers (Joshua), Michael (Jennifer), Kristin Hatling (Blake), Nicole Power, Kelly Demby (Ray) and Kaitlyn and eight great-grandchildren. He spent the last 20 years of his life with many friends, particularly Ginnie Quirk, at the Marbella in Naples. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
